BMW TFT Connectivity

The new BMW 1250 RT equipped with the TFT Connectivity screen has one minor flaw. The navigation runs off the BMW Connectivity App. In other words, if you do not have cellular service in some areas, you do not have navigation. It works well for me, but I lose connection in remote or mountainous regions.

To correct this, I added the Garmin Zumo XT. I used the mount & RF shield from FMS Accessories for a clean OEM look. Installation was not complicated, but removing some of the front fairings takes a moderate level of knowledge.

Also, please take a look at their Side Stand Extension. It's better than any other stand extensions I have tried. Quickly access your side stand.

While adding accessories, I added the Engine Guards, both front and rear, from Ilium Works. I had HEED bars on my 2016 RT. I like the Ilium Works better; it has less profile and can access the valve covers for maintenance when needed. The HEED bars had to be loosened to access the valve covers. Also, with the Ilium Works, you can take the rear bars off and cap them when riding without your side bags!
